Upstate NY

Baking Carrot Cake

Cassidy "plowing"

Even though we had a rough start, our trip to Upstate New York ended up being amazing. We walked every morning around our grandma's house and the views were spectacular! We also met many animals along the way; we saw horses, cows, chickens, a pony named Rocky, several friendly dogs( especially CG, Crazy Girl), and chipmunks! The chipmunks  were adorable and not something you find in Florida. We loved feeding them peanuts; they could hold three at a time. The wildflowers were so beautiful, we picked some on one of our walks and Cassidy got really into it. We saw giant hay bales in one of the fields so we decided to get our picture with it(we've never seen one before). The hills made every view amazing and we loved the views but our ears kept popping. All in all, we had a ton of fun during our trip to New York!

Fun Facts
Carter: I'm definitely more outdoorsy than my sister, I'm not saying I would enjoy camping but I like to be in the great outdoors!
Cassidy: I like to say I like the outdoors but in reality the only nature I enjoy being part of is the beach or a tropical island. Although, I would say I'm a huge animal rights activists.

Fun Facts
Cassidy: I would love to go skydiving. I think it would be really fun and feel like I'm flying.

Independence Day!

With our cousins Heather and Ryan

Playing Croquet

Cassidy: Shirt: Urban Outfitters, Jeans: American Eagle, Shoes: American Eagle, Jacket: Adidas
Carter: Everything: American Eagle

This 4th of July we went to our cousins' house for a family cookout. It was the coldest 4th of July for us Floridians; it was mostly in the 70s. We played croquet; apparently we are horrible because Carter lost and Cassidy came second to last. It was fun even though we lost. We both went 4-wheeling, which is something we would never dream of doing because we are not country people(the city is more our thing). It ended up being really fun though. Cassidy, feeling brave after 4-wheeling, rode on the back of our Uncle's motorcycle. That was fun, but Carter refused to go. We didn't see fireworks because we had to take our grandma home. Even though, we didn't see fireworks it was an amazing 4th of July!

Fun Fact
Cassidy: I really want my motorcycle's license; not because I want a motorcycle but just to say I know how to ride one.
Carter:  I'm not a huge fan of motorcycles. i'm fine with 4-wheeling but not riding a motorcycle.

Consol's Family Kitchen

House Salad with Italian dressing and Italian bread

Carter's Rigatoni in Vodka Sauce

Cassidy's Greens and Beans

We went to Consol's in Endicott, New York the second night of our stay in Upstate New York. The restaurant has been around since 1946 and there's a reason it's lasted so long... the food is delicious. Our parents took us there with our grandma because it's an old place they used to go to. It doesn't look like much from the outside but we still crave the food we had there. The house salad was good and the Italian dressing was probably the best we've ever had. The Italian bread was another item that they do so well. Carter got Rigatoni in vodka sauce which was so good, we kept dipping the bread in the sauce. Cassidy got the Greens and Beans; it had spinach, white beans, garlic, and angel hair pasta in a broth. The pasta was homemade and to die for. Consol's is probably one of the best Italian places we've ever been to.

Fun Fact
Cassidy: I could probably live on only Italian food for the rest of my life. It's just so good.
Carter: One of my favorite sauces is vodka sauce, but no worries the vodka is cooked out.

This was actually July 1st but we just got back from a two week vacation. We went to Upstate New York to visit family for a week and then stayed at the Don CeSar in St. Pete, FL. We went to Ithaca, New York to celebrate our dad's birthday(July 1). It was a longer drive than we originally thought so we ended up eating lunch around 2:30; this made Cassidy very hangry(angry because I'm hungry). We ate at Red's and Carter got some sort of turkey sandwich whose ingredients are unknown at the moment and Cassidy got a chicken sandwich with hummus, cheese, and caramelized onions. It was very good and their lemonade was the best. We drove around Cornell University and took pictures, probably the only time we'll go to an Ivy League school. Our dad really wanted to go to a winery so we found one that ended up being super good. The property was beautiful. In Florida we don't have hills so the views were breathtaking. We ended the day with Carrot Cake, Nirchi's pizza, presents, and Mamma Mia! Overall, it was a pretty good day.

Fun Fact:
Both our parents are from Upstate New York, so our trips up there consist of driving around showing us places they use to go to. We like seeing all the sights, it's family history!
